For the encoding computer we recommend at least a 2 GHz dual-core processor computer with 4GB of RAM (for HD broadcasts, something in the Intel Core i7 Processor range such as a 3 GHz quad or hex-core with 8GB RAM). A more powerful processor and more RAM is better, however you can stream with less as well. To get a better understanding, here are links to some of the popular encoding software minimum system specification pages: Wirecast hardware infoVidBlaster hardware info, and vMix hardware info.

For more information, see these links for some supported encoders and video capture options for both PC and Mac.  (Typically the PC options are a little less expensive.)

There are other encoding options that do not use a regular computer such as streaming hardware encoders or even a mobile option for encoding when you can't have a whole recording system set up.
